Manual Exposure

The VIEWCAM is preset to Auto Exposure mode, which automatically chooses the optimal aperture. When there is too much contrast in brightness between the subject and background, however, you may not be able to record a clear image. In this case, use the manual exposure function to correct the exposure level.

Background is too bright and subject too dark (backlit subject).

Increase the exposure level to allow more light through the lens.

Subject is too bright against background.

Decrease the exposure level to allow less light through the lens.

1 In Recording Standby mode, press the

MENU button untilappears.

3 Press the or button to select the desired exposure level.

The bar indicates the selected exposure level.

4 Press the EXIT button (A) to turn off the exposure setting screen.

To cancel Manual Exposure mode

Perform steps 1 and 2 above, then press the AUTO button (B).

Notes:

The Manual Exposure mode will be cancelled if the power source is interrupted.

The Manual Exposure mode will be cancelled if a scene setting is selected thereafter.
