[8] Surround Mode
With the Surround Mode button the available surround sound modes can be selected. The selected surround mode is permanently indicated in the display area on the right side of the top line of the display. The Surround Mode button scrolls through the avail- able surround sound modes when pressed repeatedly.
The surround modes are:
Stereo: The Stereo mode provides signals to the front left and right speakers and possibly the subwoofer.
Hall: In the Hall Surround mode, a realistic level of ambiance is added to a normal stereo source such as a CD or FM radio.
Pro Logic II: Dolby Pro Logic II is the new advanced version of Pro Logic, Dolby’s original surround matrix with center channel output. Pro Logic
IIhas enhanced imaging and wider bandwidth surround signals than original Pro Logic. Dolby Pro logic II
is intended for use with most mov- ies and television programs that are designed to be listened to using Pro Logic decoding. In addition to the standard Dolby Pro Logic II, which is known as Prologic II
5 ch Stereo: This mode is designed for use with stereo program mate- rial. It is designed to get maximum output from all your speakers. The rear speakers are driven with the same signal as the front left and right, while the center speaker is a monophonic summation of the front speakers.
