Recommended Camera settings for OneShot360™

Attach the OneShot360 unit, and power the camera on.

Zoom: Use the Zoom to exactly fill the digital camera LCD viewer screen with the circular image. Use the zoom lever on the top of the camera, around the shutter button. If you zoom in too much, you will lose part of the field of view. If you zoom in too little, you will not get maximum resolution. Note also that the OneShot image may not be exactly centered in the LCD screen – this is normal.

Flash: Make sure the flash is disabled by pressing the flash/index button (lightning bolt symbol) located above the LCD screen on the upper left of the back of the camera. Press the button until you see the “flash off” icon on the LCD.

ISO setting: RemoteReality recommends using ISO sensitivity of 100 or less.

Focus: To focus your OneShot image, use the Manual Focus function. Adjust the focal distance until a setting of 3 meters (or 9 ¾ ft.) is displayed on the LCD screen.

Aperture: Put your Canon PowerShot camera in aperture priority mode by turning the top mode dial to Av, the symbol for aperture priority. Adjust the Omni Selector left/right to an f-stop of 7.1.

White Balance: Set the white balance by pushing the +/- WB button (to the right of the LCD screen) twice. Then select AWB for Auto White Balance, which is fine for most shots.

NOTE: You can use shutter priority mode, as long as you use a shutter speed that would give you the desired f# of 7.1. Also, make sure you are using a tripod when shooting with a slow shutter speed.

Press the MENU button and use arrow buttons to:

Image Size: Under the Resolution menu, set the image size to L (2272x1704) for best quality.

Self-timer:Select the self-timer by pressing the self-timer button on top of the camera.

G2, G1 specifications

The Canon G1 is a compact digital camera that has captured the interest of photography enthusiasts since its initial release. Renowned for its robust build quality and versatile features, the G1 series has set a benchmark in the realm of compact point-and-shoot cameras.

One of the main features of the Canon G1 is its impressive image quality, powered by a large 1-inch sensor. This allows for greater light capture and enhanced detail, especially in low-light settings. The combination of a powerful DIGIC processor and high-quality optics results in sharp, vibrant images that are characterized by rich colors and fine detail.

The G1 also boasts a fast and versatile autofocus system. With a range of 31 autofocus points, this camera can quickly achieve focus on a subject, making it ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects or spontaneous moments. The inclusion of face detection technology further ensures that portraits are rendered with optimum sharpness and clarity.

In terms of zoom capabilities, the Canon G1 features a high-quality lens with a wide aperture range that allows for creative depth of field effects. The lens provides a focal length equivalent to 24-100mm in 35mm terms, making it suitable for various photography styles, from landscapes to portraits. Additionally, the camera integrates optical image stabilization, helping to reduce the impact of camera shake and ensuring crisp imagery.

A significant characteristic of the Canon G1 is its manual control options. For photographers who prefer a hands-on approach, the camera offers full manual settings, allowing for adjustment of exposure, shutter speed, and ISO. This flexibility makes it popular among both novice and experienced photographers alike.

Furthermore, the Canon G1 is equipped with connectivity options that include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, enabling seamless sharing of images and remote camera control via smartphone apps. This modern feature enhances user experience, catering to photographers who enjoy sharing their work on social media platforms quickly.

Lastly, the Canon G1 features a durable design, often with weather-sealing that protects against dust and moisture, making it suitable for outdoor photography. With its combination of advanced technology, superb optics, and user-friendly features, the Canon G1 remains a preferred choice for those who seek a portable camera without compromising on performance and quality.
