INTELLI Q

Setting up and using INTELLi Q

1.The first step to using the INTELLi Q is to install the amplifier. Seriously, basic installation techniques for new XTREME and HCCA “Type R” amplifiers remain unchanged. Set the low-pass crossover as you would in “normal” installations. (Normal Orion of course.)

2.Determine which type of enclosure you are using. Refer to the table below for tuning assistance. For example: for vented enclosures, set the high-pass crossover to the tuning frequency (port frequency) of the enclosure. If you have a woofer such as the new HCCA woofers up to 10dB of boost can be used. For woofers of lesser excursion capability, it is recommended to use up to 6dB of boost only.

3.For RTA tuning, start the INTELLi Q boost setting at 0dB. Using pink noise, slowly increase the Q adjustment until the desired frequency response is achieved. In situations where you are require more boost than is recommended, you can lower the crossover frequency to get a similar desired effect.

4.For tuning by ear, start the INTELLi Q boost setting at 0dB. Using music the high-energy low frequency content, slowly increase the Q adjustment until the desired sonic performance in achieved. In situations where you are require more boost than is recommended, you can lower the crossover frequency to get a similar desired effect
