Using DAB

1 Press the [DAB] button on the remote con- troller, or press the [INPUT] button on the CR-505DAB repeatedly to select DAB input.

Using the DAB for the first time:

When you first switch on the unit and select DAB, the Auto Tuning function scans the Band III frequencies.

After the scanning, the first scanned component will be selected and you will hear it through your speakers. To listen to other stations, use one of the search modes shown below.

Ensemble search mode: Selects the frequency (Ensem- ble) (Page 24).

Component search mode: Searches the components (Page 25).

Sorted List search mode: Searches in the sorted order in the selected sort mode (Page 25).

Preset search mode: Searches the preset components (Page 26).

You can use the Auto Tuning function manually:

You may want to re-tune at a later date if you move the CR- 505DAB or if you want to receive a newly introduced ensemble.

1.Press the [MENU] button.

2.Turn the [ / ] control to select “Auto Tuning” and push the [ / ] control.

3.The Auto Tuning starts and scans the Band III frequen- cies. The number of scanned components are shown dur- ing scanning.

Notes:

You can also control this function using the [MODE], PRESET [ ]/[ ] and [ENTER] buttons on the remote controller.

During BAND III scanning, the DAB only scans the audio services in the 174.928-239.200 MHz band range.

About secondary service:

If a secondary service exists, the “>>” symbol will light up in the “Ensemble No. & Freq.” Press the [ENTER] button to select the secondary service.

While the secondary service is selected, the “<<” symbol will light up on the display. Press the [ENTER] button to go back to the primary service.

Ensemble Search Mode

You can select any frequency (ensemble) scanned by using the Auto Tuning function.

1 Press the [MENU] button.

2 Turn the [ / ] control to select “Search Mode” and push the [ / ] control.

3 Turn the [ / ] control to select “Ensem- ble” and push the [ / ] control.

4 Turn the [ / ] control to select an ensemble.
