4. The Phone Directory

Your phone can store:

up to 40 names and numbers in its directory

one additional number in a “notepad”, which is erased whenever you switch off the phone

Stored names can be up to 16 characters long and numbers can have up to 32 digits.

See “Memory Location 40” on page 20 for an important note about Memory Location 40.

Alpha Mode

To enter names, retrieve numbers based on names, and

view names, press . The phone displays ABC

to indicate that you can use keys to enter letters, and that you are viewing names rather than numbers.

When a name is displayed you can also press to see the associated number.

To Enter Letters

Put the phone in Alpha mode by pressing . You can then enter letters. The table on the next page shows the characters you can enter while the phone is in Alpha mode.

To correct mistakes, press or press and hold to clear the whole display.
