Ringer volume

5 • Settings & Quick

Settings

The Settings menu allows you to customise your phone and change the settings related to each available option (sounds, time and date, accessories, etc.).

The Quick Settings menu allows you to change several settings at once (see page 33).

In idle mode, press ,and select Settings or Quick Set- tings, then press ,to access a feature or option and to change it as described further in this chapter. Press

,to confirm or eto cancel.

This menu allows you to change the ringer volume, se- lect a ringer melody, to set alert beeps and activate or deactivate the vibra alert.

Ringer volume

By default the ringer volume is set to Medium. Press left or right to set the volume of your ringer from Silent to In-

creasing and use a Hotkey to activate the silent mode (see page 29). The Silent mode also applies to key tones.

Ringerringer tone from the available melo- dies. Scroll through the list by moving up or down and wait for two seconds to hear the select-

ed melody being played (except for an Own melody: press ,, select Playback and press ,again to hear it). Press ,to select this melody as ringer, eto cancel, or move to the next melody.

You will not hear the melody if the volume ringer is set to Off or if the Silence mode was activated (see page 15).

Downloaded and own melody

The Own melod. menu allows you to store melodies re- ceived via SMS, either downloaded from a web site (see below) or received from a friend.

To personalise your phone, you can download iMelo- dies by choosing them from your operator's Website. From your personal computer, check on your operator's Internet site the availability, terms and conditions of this service and follow the instructions to download the selected ringer tone via a SMS. Only 1-tone melodies can be downloaded by your phone.
