HOW TO USE A CARDIO CONTROL PROGRAM

Cardio control program 7 will automatically adjust the speed and incline of the treadmill to keep your heart rate within a preset range during your workout. Cardio control program 8 will keep your heart rate near a target heart rate setting that you select.

CAUTION: If you have heart prob- lems, or if you are over 60 years of age and have been inactive, do not use the cardio con- trol programs. If you are taking medication reg- ularly, consult your physician to find whether the medication will affect your exercise heart rate.

Follow the steps below to use a cardio control program.

1 Put on the chest pulse sensor.

See page 10.

2 Insert the key into the console.

See HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER on page 13.

3 Select a cardio control program.

To select a cardio control program, press the Program Select button repeatedly until “P 7” or “P 8” appears in the display.

If cardio control pro- gram 7 is selected, a

profile of the target heart rate settings of the pro-

gram will

scroll across the matrix in the display.

If cardio control pro- gram 8 is selected, a graphic rep- resenting your heart- beat will ap- pear in the matrix.
