During the program, slow your striding speed briefly and measure your heart rate regularly
(refer to step 5 on page 7). Each time you mea- sure your heart rate, the resistance of the pedals will automatically increase or decrease, if neces- sary, to keep your heart rate near the preselected percentage of your maximum heart rate. HOW TO EXERCISE ON THE ELLIPTICAL CROSSTRAINER
To mount the elliptical crosstrainer, hold the handle- bars and step onto the pedal that is in the lowest posi- tion. Next, step onto the other pedal. Center your feet on the pedals. Push the pedals until they begin to move with a continuous motion. Note: The pedals can turn in either direction; turn the pedals in the direction that is the most comfortable for you.

To dismount the elliptical crosstrainer, allow the pedals to slowly come to a stop. CAUTION: The elliptical crosstrainer does not have a freewheel; the pedals will continue to move until the flywheel stops. When the pedals are stationary, step off the highest pedal first. Then, step off the lowest pedal.
