Singing Along with Multiplex Karaoke Discs or Tapes
When you use multiplex karaoke discs or tapes, you can use Multiplex Sound and Vocal Replace.
Multiplex Sound
In a multiplex karaoke disc or tape, the instrumental part is recorded on the left channel and the vocal part is recorded on the right channel. By using Multiplex Sound function, you can select the channel to playback.
Vocal Replace
You can replace the recorded vocal with your vocal while singing along. If you stop singing while a source is still playing, the recorded vocal will be resumed.
1.Turn down MIC LEVEL and VOLUME fully.
2.Connect the microphone into the MIC jack on the front panel.
3.Start the source CD or tape.
4.Press the MPX/V.REPLACE/V.MASKING button on the Unit to select the output sound.
The “ ” indicator comes on.
Each time you press the button, Karaoke function changes as follows:
Lch MONO Rch MONO REPLACE V.MASK
NORMAL
Lch MONO: Only the left channel (instrumental parts) is played back through both right and left speakers.
Rch MONO: Only the right channel (vocal parts) is played back through both right and left speakers.
REPLACE: Your voice replaces the right channel (vocal part) when you sing into the microphone.
V.MASK: This cannot be used for multiplex karaoke sources. Refer to previous page for details.
NORMAL: Cancels the Karaoke function.
5.Turn MIC LEVEL and VOLUME to adjust the microphone level and the speaker output level.

Note: When you finish singing, cancel the Karaoke function by pressing the MPX/V.REPLACE/ V.MASKING button until “NORMAL” appears on the display.
Adjusting Key Control
You can adjust the key of the source if it's not suite on you.
• This function is available only when you use CDs for karaoke source.
1.Start the source CD.
2.Press the KEY CONTROL buttons on the Unit or on the Remote Control.
Press the I button to lower the key. Press the ibutton to raise the key.
To cancel key control, press the I button or the ibutton until “KEY 0” appears on the display.
Notes:
•When you change the key, the key position remains unless you change it again. To restore the original key of the source, refer to "To cancel key control" above.
•You cannot adjust the key while recording.
•When you change the source, key control function is canceled and the key returns to 0.
