Care & Maintenance
Mineral Deposits:
One problem with a steamer appliance is the mineral deposits caused by the high mineral content in many municipal water supplies. Mineral residue inside of the internal pipes and heater can cause intermittent steaming or, in some cases, no steam at all.
To reduce or eliminate the occurrence of mineral deposits, we recommend the use of
If regular tap water is used, we recommend the use of a ‘Lime & Scale Remover’ every 2 or 3 months to
ensure optimum functionality from your HAAN® Steam Station™. You can purchase this directly from the
HAAN® web site (see below).
Steamer Maintenance:
IMPORTANT
Always be sure that your Steam Station™ Garment Steamer is UNPLUGGED from the wall receptacle prior to cleaning or before emptying the water tank.
•Clean and rinse your steamer regularly.
•Never use additives such as salt, perfume and dyes.
Do not introduce detergents and/or soap to the water tank. These substances will corrode or clog internal parts.
•When steaming clothes using the Garment Valet, hold the steam head in a vertical, upright position. Hold the steam head vents away from you and steam in a vertical up and down motion. This will allow the condensation in the hose to flow back into the steamer.
CAUTION
Do not immerse your Steam Station™ Garment Steamer in water or any other liquid.
•Do not pull the steamer by the power cord; pulling the steamer by the power cord may cause the internal wiring to become loose.
•Be sure to turn your HAAN® Steam Station™ off and unplug the unit from the electrical outlet before doing any maintenance.
•To clean the exterior body of your HAAN® Steam Station™ wipe it down with a damp cloth.
Storing the HAAN® Steam Station™:
Before storing the steamer for an extended period (30 days or more), empty all water from the unit. Water becomes stale with time and may clog internal parts. Be sure to allow the unit to cool completely before removing excess water.
