When playing an MP3 disc, refer also to “MP3 OPERATIONS” on pages 22 to 26.

Playing a CD

1 Open the loading slot.

The control panel moves down, and the loading slot appears.

Note:

When an external component is connected to the auxiliary input jack, be careful of handling a disc.

2 Insert a disc into the loading slot.

The unit draws the disc, the control panel goes back to the previous position (see page 35), and CD play starts automatically.

• All the tracks on the disc will be played repeatedly until you stop playback—All Track Repeat Play.

Note:

Do not insert any 8 cm disc into the loading slot as it

will get stuck inside.

The display changes to show the following:

Total track

Total playing time of

Notes:

When a disc is in the loading slot, selecting “CD”

as the source by pressing SOURCE starts CD play.

When a disc is inserted upside down, the disc automatically ejects.

When you play a CD Text, the disc title and performer appear on the display. Then the current track title appears on the display, followed by the track number and elapsed playing time. See also “Playing a CD Text” (page 19) and “To select the scroll mode – SCROLL” (page 32).

If a CD Text includes too much text information, some may not appear on the display.

If you change the source, CD play also stops (without ejecting the disc).

To stop play and eject the disc

Press 0.

CD play stops, the control panel moves down, and the disc automatically ejects from the loading slot.

To return the control panel to its previous position, press 0 again.

If you keep the loading slot open for one minute (or 30 seconds when you have ejected a disc with the ignition key turned to “OFF”), a beep sounds and the control panel returns to its previous position.

Be careful not to get the disc or your finger caught in between the control panel and the unit.

Note:

If the ejected disc is not removed within 15 seconds, the disc is automatically inserted again into the loading slot to protect it from dust. (CD play will not start this time.)
