32 SAFETY
EVERY SAILOR MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR INSURING THEIR SAFETY, AS WELL AS THEIR PASSENGERS SAFETY, ON THE WATER.
32.1Always wear a personal flotation device (PFD) and make sure that your crew does the same!
32.2Never sail alone!
32.3Make sure that someone on shore knows where you are sailing and when you plan to return!
32.4Never sail in threatening wind or water conditions!
32.5Do not sail in wind or water conditions that are beyond your sailing abilities! If in doubt, don't go out!
32.6Do not overload the boat or wings!
32.7Always carry boat righting lines and equipment! Righting water bags and shroud extenders are recommended.
32.8Sail within sight of the land! Be especially cautious on large bodies of water.
