10) MULTI-TIMBRAL MODE ON/OFF

The procedure described in the MIDI CHANNEL SELECT section is used to transmit or receive data on only one of the 16 MIDI channels (CH 1 - CH 16). However, by enabling MULTI-TIMBRAL MODE, MIDI data can be received on more than one MIDI channel, simultaneously playing a different sound on each channel. With this feature enabled, an external sequencer can be used to enjoy ensemble performances, playing multiple sound types on a single CN22 digital piano.

The term ‘Multi-Timbral’ is derived from the ability to play multiple timbres simultaneously.

„Please refer to the chart below for information regarding received program numbers and the corresponding sound types.

„Data received through CH 10 will not be performed when MULTI-TIMBRAL MODE is enabled.

…Step 1

Press and hold the METRONOME and SOUND SELECT buttons simultaneously, then press the key assigned to the MULTI function.

…Step 2

While still holding down the METRONOME and SOUND SELECT buttons, press the key ‘- (off)’ to set MULTI-TIMBRAL MODE to ‘off’, or the ‘+ (on)’ key to set MULTI-TIMBRAL MODE to ‘on’.

„The MULTI-TIMBRAL MODE setting is automatically set to ‘off’ when the CN22 digital piano is turned on.
