Mit einigen wenigen Handgriffen halten Sie Ihre VOX-Gitarre über Jahre hinaus optimal in Schuss. Wischen Sie das Instrument nach dem Spielen mit einem weichen trockenen Tuch ab. Verwenden Sie ab und zu hochwertiges Gitarrenpflegemittel (und lesen Sie sich unbedingt die Gebrauchsanweisung durch).

Schützen Sie Ihr Instrument vor extremen Temperaturen und drastischen Temperaturgefällen. Eine Gitarre, die zu lange in einem überhitzten Kofferraum liegt, zerreißt sich irgendwann buchstäblich selbst. Ein plötz- lich einsetzender kalter Luftstrom auf eine Gitarre kann dazu führen, dass der Lack springt.

Mit frischen Saiten klingt Ihre VOX-Gitarre prinzipiell am besten. Zum Glück lassen sich die Saiten sehr schnell wechseln. Schneiden die alten Saiten ab (bzw. drehen Sie sie ganz los), entfernen Sie sie und ziehen Sie die neuen Saiten von hinten durch die Brücke. Achten Sie beim Drehen der Saiten um die Mechanik darauf, dass die erste Drehung über dem Saitenende liegt und alle weiteren Wicklungen darunter. Unter Einwirkung der Saitenspannung rücken diese Ringe nämlich eng zusammen und klem- men das Saitenende damit fest, was der Stimmfestigkeit zugute kommt. Gewickelte Saiten muss man mindestens 2–3 Mal um die Mechanik drehen. Nicht gewickelte (hohe) Saiten dagegen mindestens 4–5 Mal.
