1.INPUT JACK: This is a ¼”, 2-conductor input for plugging in your instrument. It is intended for guitar but will accept other instruments as well.

2.VOLUME: This control determines the overall volume level of the amplifier. Due to the simplicity of the Defender 15H’s all-tube circuitry, a wide range of tones can be obtained with the use of this control alone.

For example, when set in its lower ranges, the sound is clean and snappy. As the Volume control is turned up, light overdrive is generated by the amp’s all-tube circuitry. This overdrive occurs naturally and is not created by any internal distortion circuit. As the Volume control is turned higher (clockwise), you’ll hear increased natural drive and compression that is great for crunchy rhythms and sustaining guitar solos. In essence, the Defender 15H generates classic overdriven tube amp tone but at lower, more manageable volume levels. (Although you may be surprised by the amount of volume that the Defender V15 & 15H can generate, so watch your ears!)

3.BASS RESPONSE: This control varies the low frequency response and changes how the amp sounds and feels. When turned all the way to the left, the bass notes will have a looser, less focused sound reminiscent of vintage American tube amps. As you turn the knob clockwise, the bass notes gain a tighter, thicker attack with a distinctly British flavor.

4.TONE: The Tone control adjusts the balance of low, middle and high frequencies. When set at 12 o’clock, thicker control provides an even balance of all frequencies. When turned to the left, bass notes are emphasized providing a thicker tone. Turning the knob clockwise adds high frequencies to the tone. Higher settings will provide more bite and help you cut through the mix.

5.OUTPUT POWER SELECT: This control changes the output power of the amplifier. Set to 15 Watts for maximum volume and more headroom before the sound “breaks up” as a result of overdriving the tubes. Set to 4 Watts to achieve this distorted sound at lower volumes.

6.POWER: This dual-function component is both an ON/OFF power switch and a status indicator light. When illuminated, it shows that your amplifier is ready to be played. To turn your amplifier on, press switch upward. To turn amp off, press switch downward.

Note: After the power switch is turned on, the tubes must warm up for approximately one minute before you will hear sound from your amplifier.

15H, V15 specifications

Kustom V15 and V15H are dynamic guitar amplifiers designed to cater to the needs of guitarists seeking versatile performance and rich tones. These amps are celebrated for their powerful sound and user-friendly interface, making them suitable for both practice sessions and live performances.

One of the standout features of the Kustom V15 and V15H is their all-tube amplification design. This technology delivers warm, rich tones that are highly sought after by musicians. The all-tube circuit provides natural compression and harmonic richness, which enhances the overall sound quality and dynamics of the guitar.

The V15 model boasts a 15-watt output, perfect for small venues or personal practice. It is equipped with a single 12-inch speaker that ensures a wide sound dispersion and a well-balanced tonal response. The amp features a two-channel design – clean and overdrive – allowing guitarists to switch between sparkling clean tones and gritty, distorted sounds effortlessly. This versatility makes the V15 an excellent choice for different music styles, from blues to rock.

On the other hand, the V15H head version offers the same tonal capabilities but without a built-in speaker, making it ideal for players who prefer to pair their amplifier head with different cabinets for customized sound options. This flexibility is particularly appealing to touring musicians who might need to adjust their sound for various venues and setups.

Both models include a built-in spring reverb, adding depth and space to the sound, which is critical for creating lush, immersive tones. The controls are straightforward and intuitive, featuring volume, tone, and gain knobs that allow users to dial in the perfect sound quickly.

Moreover, the Kustom V15 and V15H are equipped with an external speaker output, enabling guitarists to connect various speaker cabinets, facilitating sound customization. The rugged construction of the amplifiers ensures durability and longevity, a key consideration for musicians on the road.

In conclusion, the Kustom V15 and V15H embody the essence of what guitarists seek in an amplifier: versatile tonal options, all-tube warmth, and robust construction. They are perfect for players at any level, from beginners to seasoned professionals, delivering sound quality that stands out in any musical setting.
