Handbrake Lever (Optional)

Your scooter may be equipped with a handbrake lever, located on the tiller handle. This lever pro- vides you with additional stopping power. See figure 7.

νRelease the throttle control lever and gently squeeze the handbrake lever to come to a stop.

NOTE: If you do not release the throttle control lever before using the handbrake, your scooter may not come to a complete stop.

FUSE BOX

The fuse box is a compartment located at the rear of the tiller. It contains five automotive-type fuses, which help protect the control console assembly and the lighting system from receiv- ing an overload of electrical current. The fuse box contains one 5-amp fuse and four 3-amp fuses. See figure 7A.

νThe battery charging system is protected by the 5-amp fuse.

νThe turn signals lights and the headlight are protected with three of the 3-amp fuses.

νThe fourth 3-amp fuse is a spare.

NOTE: If a fuse must be replaced (see figures 8 and 8A), use only the specified amp fuse. For more information, see XI. “Care and Mainte- nance.”
