•La temperatura oral puede resultar alterada por la ingestión de alimentos o bebidas y por factores respiratorios.

•La temperatura rectal refleja con retraso los cambios en la temperatura central del cuerpo y presenta un riesgo de contaminación cruzada.

•La temperatura normal del cuerpo se refleja en un rango. La siguiente tabla muestra que este rango normal de temperatura también varía según la parte del cuerpo. En consecuencia, las mediciones en diferentes partes no deben compararse directa- mente.
