INSTALLATION

SELECTING A LOCATION

You can place the ET-007 on a desk or table, mount it on a standard wall plate, or mount it directly on a wall. Choose a location that is:

near an AC outlet

near a modular telephone line jack

out of the way of normal activities

Note: Your ET-007 connects directly to a modular telephone line jack. If your phone line jack is not a modular jack, you can update the wiring yourself, us- ing jacks and adapters available at your local RadioShack store. Or, you can let the phone company update the wiring for you.

Cautions:

You must use a Class 2

!power source that supplies 9V DC and delivers at least

300 mA. Its center tip must be set to positive and its plug must fit the ET- 007's 9V DC 300mA jack. The sup- plied adapter meets these specifica- tions. Using an adapter that does not meet these specifications could damage the ET-007 or the adapter.

Always connect the AC adapter to the ET-007 before you connect it to AC power. When you finish, discon- nect the adapter from AC power be- fore you disconnect it from the ET- 007.

CONNECTING THE

HANDSET

Plug the supplied coiled handset cord into the jacks on the handset and the left side of the corded phone.

Note: Your local RadioShack store sells a variety of longer coiled handset cords, which are especially useful when you mount the phone on the wall.

PLACING THE BASE TELEPHONE ON A DESK

1.Plug one end of the supplied modu- lar cord into the TEL. LINE jack on the back of the base.

2.Plug the modular cord's other end into a modular phone line jack.

3.Plug the supplied AC adapter's bar- rel plug into the 9V DC 300mA on the back of the phone. Then plug the adapter into a standard AC outlet.
