4.If necessary, turn RF.GAIN clock- wise to increase the signal sensi- tivity.

To turn off the TRC-488, turn VOLUME counterclockwise until you hear it click.

TRANSMITTING

We recommend you spend some time receiving transmissions before you try to transmit a message yourself.

Follow these steps to transmit.

1.Set the mode selector to CB.

2.Slide CH9/OUT to OUT.

3.Turn CHANNEL to the desired channel.

4.Hold the microphone 2 or 3 inches from your mouth, then press and hold down the microphone talk button and speak into the micro- phone in a normal voice. The red TX indicator lights.

Note: Do not speak too loudly when transmitting. It does not make your signal any stronger, and might distort your transmis- sion.

5.When you finish transmitting, release the microphone talk but- ton. You can now receive trans- missions.

6.To turn off the TRC-488, turn VOL- UME counterclockwise until you hear it click.
