INSTALLATION

Mount the base on the wall by holding the base so that the mounting knobs on the standard wall jack will fit into the keyhole slots on the base. Slide the base bracket down onto the knobs until it locks into place. The cradle will support the handset when the base is on

the wall.

Plug the AC adapter on the power cord into an electrical outlet.

See note under Item 4.

5Position the base antenna so that it points upwards.

6Charge the handset batteries before use.

Place the handset in the base. The CHARGING light on the base goes on to show the handset is in the right position to charge the batteries. This phone requires 10 hours of charging. The handset will not operate until the batteries are charged.

7Check for dial tone.

After the batteries are charged, pick up the handset. Check for dial tone by

pressing ; the PHONE light should go on and you should hear a

dial tone. Press again to turn the phone off.

8Set the dial mode.

If you have touch tone service, the phone will be ready to use as soon as the battery is charged.

*NOTE: If you have dial pulse service you will need to set the dial mode

by pressing , , , , . To return to touch tone

dialing with touch tone service, press , , , , . when the phone is OFF.

TELEPHONE OPERATION (From the Handset)

Making a Call

1Press on the handset. The PHONE light will go on.

2When you hear a dial tone, dial the number.

Answering a Call

If the handset is in the base:

1Lift the handset.

2The PHONE light goes on and the call will be connected.

If the Ringer Switch is set to OFF, or if the handset is away from the base:

1Press on the handset.

2The PHONE light goes on and the call will be connected.

*NOTE: Although ringing will stop when you answer, you might not be able to hear the other party until the PHONE light goes on steadily.

Ending a Call Using the Handset

If you are near the base:

Place the handset in the base.

If you are away from the base:

Press .

Handset Volume

The handset VOLUME button allows you to increase or decrease the loudness of an incoming voice. The handset volume can be set to three different levels. Each time you press VOLUME, the level changes.

Flash

Press to activate custom calling services such as Call Waiting or Three-Way Calling. You may have to press other buttons before or after as explained in the custom calling instructions provided by your local phone service company.

Redial

The last number dialed (up to 16 digits) on the phone is stored in redial memory until you dial another number.
