Terms you should know

Off-hook

Any line that is selected to either make a call or receive an incoming call. The term off-hookis applied, regardless of whether the user actually (a) lifts the handset, (b) presses a line key, (c) the call is automatically answered at the set, or (d) a line is automatically selected for an outgoing call.

Handsfree

A method of conversing with the party on the other end of the line without lifting your handset.

Off-hook

Soft keys (self-labeled)

A set of keys programmed by your system administrator. These keys are located directly below the display area, and have four programmable layers. The layers are accessed through the More... key. These keys are also used to configure parameters in the Telephone Option menu.

User Interface

Screen displays that interact with the user as a result of an action or event.

Quick Call

A telephone number programmed to a single Quick Call key for one-touch dialing.
