To listen for and talk to another handset user

Talk

Talk

If another handset user is calling, you will hear a 2 second ringing tone to alert you that they are going to speak.

You will then hear them speaking to you.

The icon will be shown on the display to indicate that you are receiving a call. (You may need to adjust the volume, see p12).

When the other handset user has finished speaking you can respond to the call, press and hold the TALK button, then hold the handset about 3 inches (712 cm) from your mouth and speak into the microphone. The transmission icon will be shown on the display.

Release the TALK button when you have finished speaking.

Battery saver mode

If there are no transmissions for 10 seconds your BT Freeway will automatically switch to battery saver mode. This is indicated by a flashing STANDBY icon on the display.

If any incoming or outgoing calls are made the handset will return to standby mode.
