About the Switch The Switch 3870 24 port unit is a mixed media device which consists of:

3870

24 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports and

Four 10/100/1000BASE-T/1000BASE-X SFP ports

The Switch 3870 48 port unit is a mixed media device which consists of:

48 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T RJ-45 ports

Four 10/100/1000BASE-T/1000BASE-X SFP ports

The four highest numbered RJ-45 ports (21–24 on the 24-port Switch, 45–48 on the 48-port Switch) and the SFP ports are combination ports. When an SFP module is inserted it has priority over the RJ-45 port with the same number and the RJ-45 port is disabled.

For information about using the software features of the Switch, refer to the “Switch Management Interface Reference Guide” on the CD-ROM that accompanies the Switch.
