You hear "Message alert" and the current setting ([ ] Off or [ ] On), and it is displayed on the main base. Then you hear the instructions for setting the Message Alert Tone.

2)Press the or /volume/select key to make your selection.

3)Press the set key to select the new setting. You hear a confirmation tone, then the announcement "Message alert" followed by the setting you have selected. After a few seconds, the system announces "To set language, press menu again."

When the first new message is received, the alert tone will begin to sound.

Selecting the Language

The answering system voice announcements can be heard in English, French or Spanish. To choose the language of the answering system voice announcements:

1)With the phone in standby mode, press the menu/clock key six times.

You hear the announcement "Language, English" followed by the voice prompts for setting the language. The current setting ([ ], [ ] or [ ]) appears on the main base.

2)Press the or /volume/select key to select the desired language.

3)Press the set key. A confirmation tone is heard along with the setting in the language selected.
