3.Place the MP3/CD Player on a level and hori- zontal surface. Position the MP3/CD Player such that the flap of the CD compartment e can be opened completely. For this, the carrying handle q must be folded back.
Inserting the batteries
If you wish to operate the MP3/CD Player by bat- tery power, you must first insert 6 x 1.5 V batteries of the type D/LR20 into the battery compartment 2! (Batteries not supplied).
1.Open the battery compartment 2! on the appliance under side.
2.Insert the batteries into the battery compart- ment, taking note of the in the battery compart- ment 2! outlined polarities 2!.
3.Carefully close the battery compartment lid until it clicks into place.
Interaction with batteries
Leaking batteries can cause damage to the MP3/CD Player.
•If you do not intend to use the MP3/CD Player for an extended period, remove the batteries.
•Always change all batteries at the same time and always use batteries of the same type.
•Should the batteries leak, wear protective gloves and clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth.
Providing mains power
•Insert the connector of the power cable into the power cable plug 2) at the rear of the applian- ce.
•Insert the plug of the power cable into a wall power socket.
The MP3/CD Player automatically recognises when the power cable is connected to a mains power socket and switches automatically into mains power operation.
Utilisation
Switching the appliance on/off and sound source selection
The appliance is switched on by you selecting a sound source with the function switch 1*:
•RADIO
•OFF
•CD/MP3
1.Slide the function switch 1* into the position marked for your desired sound source.
2.To switch the appliance off, slide the function switch 1* into the position OFF.
Adjusting the volume
You can adjust the sound volume with the volume controller 1&.
1.To increase the sound level, turn the volume controller 1& clockwise.
2.To reduce the sound level, turn the volume controller 1& anticlockwise.
Using headphones
You can connect headphones to the MP3/CD Play- er with a 3,5 mm stereo jackplug. The headphone connection 2@ is located on the rear side of the MP3/CD Player. When you have connected head- phones, the loudspeakers are disconnected and you will only hear sound over the headphones.
•Insert the headphone jackplug into the head- phone connection 2@.
Important!
Listening to music with headphones for long periods and at high volume levels can lead to hearing damage!
