Conventions

This manual uses certain conventions to provide a consistent means of recognizing specific information, as follows:

is used for warning information related to your personal safety or possible damage to the radio. These warning notes contain critical information - please read them!

"Press" means push and immediately release the button.

"Hold down" means keep the button depressed for the specified time.

LOCAL. Words looking like this indicate a menu option on the LCD screen of the handset, OR a button name.

Maintaining the radio

To help maintain your radio at peak operating performance, we recommend that you:

hang the handset on the customized bracket when you're not using it.

use a soft cloth dampened in water to wipe any dirt or salt from the handset, cable, or speaker.

use a small amount of window cleaner on a soft cloth to remove any grease, oil, or fingerprints from the LCD screen.
