Li-Ion Battery Recharging (DMP740 only)

The DMP740 comes with a Li-Ion rechargeable battery. Charge the battery com- pletely before using the DMP740 for the first time by following the steps below:

1.Connect the supplied AC Adapter to AC outlet, and plug in the other end of the AC Adapter to the DC in-jack of the media player.

2.While recharging, the power LED above the LCD screen will flash. If you turn on the media player while recharging, you will see the power charging indi- cation at the top of the LCD display.

3.When the battery is fully charged, the Power LED will stop flashing and the charge indicator on the battery icon will disappear. Disconnect the AC Adapter from the player.

NOTE: Charge only with the supplied AC Adapter.

NOTE: You can still operate while recharging; but the recharging time will be longer.

NOTE: The unit should not be left on the AC adapter for long periods of time after battery is fully charged. This could damage the bat- tery. The unit should be played on the internal battery until it is completely drained. If the unit is turned off for a month, charge the battery to retain full efficiency and life. The battery should be completely charged before use when fully discharged, new, or after not being used for a long period of time. Due to
