4.After connection is initialized, if your computer operating system fails to

recognize the media player as a hard disk, then go to [Device Manager] by clicking "Start"ˆ"Setting"ˆ"Control Panel"ˆ"System"ˆ"Hardware", and look for [DMP740 USB Device] under [Disk Drive] to check connection sta- tus. If the connection is failed, you will not find under Disk Drives a drive with a similar name such as [Toshiba MK4025GAS or DMP740 USB Device or DMP040 USB Device] (this is the hard drive in the media player). Repeat this procedure from step 2 to connect the media player to your computer.

FOR SYSTEMS WITH WINDOWS 98SE

After connecting the media player to a Windows 98SE operating system com- puter, the Windows system will detect the media player and ask to install driv- er. Place the supplied driver CD in the CD-ROM drive, and refer to the Utility CD section to complete the driver installation.

FORMAT MEDIA PLAYER AND DISK MAINTENANCE

NOTE: If you format the hard disk, all data on the hard disk will be erased! You should first copy all the data to your PC before start- ing the format procedure. The hard disk must be formatted using FAT32. Then re-install system files and directory names from your PC to the media player
