Battery Charger or these instruc- tions to operate the Battery Char- ger. Battery Chargers are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

d.Maintain Battery Chargers. Check for breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the Battery Charger’s operation. If damaged, have the Battery Char- ger repaired before use. Many ac- cidents are caused by poorly main- tained Battery Chargers.

e.Use the Battery Charger in ac- cordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be per- formed. Use of the Battery Charger for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

5.Battery use and care

a.When battery is not in use, keep away other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal ob- jects, that can make a connec- tion from one terminal to another.

Shorting the battery terminals togeth- er may cause burns or a fire.

b.Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact acciden- tally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

6.Service

a.Have your Battery Charger ser- viced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement

parts. This will ensure that the safety of the Battery Charger is maintained.

Battery Charger Safety Warnings

1.Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or miss- ing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement.

2.Avoid contact with battery acid. If splashed, unplug Battery Charger and immediately wash effected area with clean water.

3.Turn vehicle OFF and allow to cool before plugging in Battery Charger. Remove keys from vehicle ignition before plugging in Battery Charger.

4.Before operation, check to be sure Battery Charger cables are connect- ed to the correct battery posts. Red must be connected to the Positive (+) terminal. Black cable must be con- nected to the Negative (-) terminal.

5.Keep Output Wires (12) and Power Cable (8) clear of fan, fan belt, pul- leys and any other moving parts of the engine.

6.Only use Battery Charger in a well ventilated area to prevent build up of explosive gasses.

7.Do not allow the Red and Black ter- minals of the Battery Charger or the vehicle battery cables to touch. Do not allow the Red cables to touch the frame or any metal part of the ve- hicle. Contact can cause an electrical short resulting in sparks, burn injury or damage to property.

8.Only use in 12 VDC systems. Do not use in any other voltage system.
