on.

To continue using the device after the charge indicator comes on, use the AC adapter or an alternative power source to power the device.

Always fully charge the battery before using it again after the charge indicator lights.

If the operating time for each charge when using the battery become noticeably shorter than usual, refer to “About the Memory Effect” below.

If the battery will not be used for a long time

If the battery is not used for approximately 10 days after being charged, the battery capacity will be reduced to about half that of normal due to self-discharge of the battery power. If the battery will not be used for a long time, use the battery until the charge indicator on the main unit lights (to fully discharge the battery) before charging it.

About the Memory Effect

If the battery is repeatedly charged before it has fully discharged, the operating time possible for each charge will gradually be reduced. This is known as the “memory effect” and is normal for nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries. It does not indicate a battery error or malfunction.

If the operating time for each charge become reduced, fully charge the battery and operate the device until the unit stops operating (rather then when the charge indicator lights) two or three times in a row. This should restore the battery capacity to normal. If the battery capacity does still not return to normal, replace the battery with a new one.
