.WARNING! Make sure that the tool is unplugged from its electrical outlet before performing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.

.BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Drill. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, dam- aged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use damaged equipment.

.Periodically check the mounting screws and tighten if necessary.

.Clean the unit with a damp cloth. Never use solvents to clean the unit.

.Inspect the chuck and remove any dirt or debris.

.The following should only be done by a qualified service technician. Inspect the Carbon Brushes (17) periodically. See the Assembly Drawing on page 15. Re- move the Brush Holder (16) on the side of the drill. Take the Carbon Brush (17) out of the Brush Holder (17). If it is dirty, use a pencil eraser to clean it. If it is worn, replace it and insert the Carbon Brush (17) into the Brush Holder (17). If one brush is bad, replace both.
