Before removing the I/O board, follow these steps:
1.Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3.Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4.Remove the back cover (see Back cover on page 13).
5.Remove the battery (see Battery on page 15).
6.Remove the left speaker (see Speakers on page 16).
Remove the I/O board:
1.Remove the shield tape (1) that secures the I/O board cable to the display panel assembly.
NOTE: The shield tape is included in the I/O Hardware Kit, spare part number
2.Release the zero insertion force (ZIF) connector (2) to which the I/O board cable is attached, and then disconnect the I/O board cable from the system board.
3.Remove the three Phillips PM1.25×4.0 screws (3) that secure the I/O board bracket and I/O board to the display panel assembly.
NOTE: The screws that secure the I/O board bracket and I/O board to the display panel assembly include washers. Make sure these washers are installed when installing the I/O board bracket and I/O board.
4.Remove the I/O board bracket (4).
