11.2.9Manage applications

Use the Manage applications settings to view details about the applications installed on your phone, to manage their data and force them to stop, and to set whether you want to permit installation of applications that you obtain from web sites and emails.

Manage Apps

•Download: Touch to manage and remove installed applications.

•Running: Touch to view and control currently running service.

•All: Touch to view storage used by applications.

11.3Personal

11.3.1Location access

Access to my location

Touch the switch to enable the use of information from Wi-Fi and mobile networks to determine your approximate location, for use in Google Maps, when you search, and so on. When you select this option, you’re asked whether you consent to share your location anonymously with Google’s location service.

GPS satellites

Check to use your phone’s global positioning system (GPS) satellite receiver to pinpoint your location within an accuracy as close as several metres (“street level”). The process of accessing the GPS satellite and setting your phone's precise location for the first time will require up to 5 minutes. You will need to stand in a place with a clear view of the sky and avoid moving. After this, GPS will only need 20-40 seconds to identify your precise location.

Wi-Fi & mobile network location

Mark the checkbox to allow Google's location service to collect anonymous location data. Some data may be stored on your device.When no apps are running, collection may occur.

11.3.2Security

Find my phone

Touch the switch to enable Find my phone function.

Encrypt phone

Require a numeric PIN or passwords to decrypt your phone each time you power it on.

Set up SIM card lock

•Mark the checkbox of Lock SIM card to lock the SIM card with a PIN code.

•Touch Change SIM PIN to change the PIN code.

Make passwords visible

Mark the checkbox to show passwords as you type.

Device administrators

Touch to view or deactivate device administrators.

App options

Touch to view app detail information.

Unknown sources

Mark the checkbox to permit installation of applications that you obtain from websites, emails, or other locations other than Google Play Store.
