LOCATION

The design is certifiedfor through-the-wallinstallationonly. The interior portionsof the unit may be surroundedbya closet with clearancesto combustiblematerial held to 0" at sides, 0" top and O" frontof the plenum.

The grille sideof the unitmay be flush with or extendbeyondthe faceof theexteriorwall, but shouldnot berecessed morethan two(2) inchesfrom the face of the buildingand shouldnot be obstructedwith trees, landscapematerials, or building structure.

Thereis no minimumclearancerequiredon locatinga unitto aninteriorcornerofa building. If theunit is to beenclos- ed, provisionsshouldbe madeallowingaccessto the indoorside of the unitfor changingfilters.and for inspection.At least 33" of unobstructedspace should be providedin front of the indoor side. whetherenclosedor noL to permit removalof the coolingchassis shouldrepairs or inspectionbe required.

If this unit is installedin a residentialgarage it must be locatedor protectedto avoidph_,sicaldamageby vehicles. This unit must be installedso that no electricalcomponentsare exposedto water.

CAUTION:THIS UNIT MUST BEINSTALLEDLEVEL FORPROPERDRAINAGEOFTHE CHASSISBASEPAN AND UNIT

DRAINPAN.

WITHOUTWALL SLEEVE

Measurethe size ofthe unit and providean openingin an outsidewall that will acceptthe unit. Localordinancesmay require a steel lintel to supportthe wall abovethe opening. This opening must be square in all corners.

Positionthe unit sothat the grilleson the outsideface of the unit are flush or extendbeyondthe faceof the exterior wall, but notrecessedmore thantwo (2) inchesfrom the faceof the building. PROVIOEA SUPPORTUNDERTHE UNIT

INSIDETHE BUILDING.Make sure that the inside supportdoesnot blockthe return air. The unitshouldbe installed level.

Sealthe spacebetweenthe unit and the buildingopeningusinga non-hardeningcaulkingcompound.The seal must be weather-tightto prevententranceof moistureand water intothe building. Make sure the drain holesin the base are not pluggedwith caulking.

WITH WALL SLEEVE

See the installationinstructionspacked with Ihe wall sleeveto assembleand mountin a wall. Make sure that the

gasketsattachedtothe sleeveare not damaged.Assurethat the unit is completelyseatedagainstthe gasketson the wall sleeve.

Seal spacebetweenwall sleeveand buildingopening using non-hardeningcaulkingcompound.This seal must be water tight.

CONDENSATEDRAIN

Install the plasticdrain tube (furnished) over the 5/8" O.O. fittingwelded to the condensatepan. Connectotherend of the drain tube to trappeddrain line (See Figure2). The plasticdrain connectionto thechassisbaseis providedso that it may be disconnectedfrom the permanentdrain tubingin the baseof unit in theeventit becomesnecessaryto removethe chassisassembly.

The drain line should pitch gradualtydownwardat least 1" per 10 foot of horizontalrun to the open drain.

LBe certainthat the plasticdrain tubing has tree drainageand is not crimped or flattenedat any bend.
