DUCTWORK

Ductwork should be designedand sized accordingto applicablemethods from the Air ConditioningContractorsof

America (ACCA).

It is recommendedthat supply and return duct connectionsat the unit be made with flexible joints.

'The supply and return air duct systemsshouldbe designedfor the CFM staiic requirementsof the job. They should NOT be sized Io match the dimensionsol the duct connectionson the unit.

NOTE:SUPPLYDUCTFLANGESARESHIPPEDFLATAND MUSTBEBENTUP BEFOREAFI'ACHINGTHE SUPPLYDUCT,

To connectthe return duct tothe unJt,usea straightpieceof duct 22" wideby 7" deep. Insert theduct intothe return openingin thebottomofthe unit. Flangethe ductover the existingflangesaroundthe openinginsideunit. Make sure thatall sides of the duct are flangedoverto permitremovalof coolingchassisif required.Usea flexibleconnectionto attach remainderof return duct. The return duct shouldbe sealedto the unitcasingand terminateoutsidethe space containingthe furnace,

NOTE: THE RETURNDUCT MUST ALLOWFORTHE UNIT DRAINPAN CONNECTIONSAND DRAINTUBE.

CAUTION: 00 NOT SCREWINTO THE SIDEOF THE DRAIN PAN.

AIR FILTER

All indoorreturn air must befiltered. A permanent-type filter is furnished with theunit. locateddirectly behindthe ac- cess panel. Removingthe panel permitsaccessto the filter.

The tilter shouldbe cleanedat leastthree timesduringeach of the heatingand coolingseasons,or morefrequently if unusual conditionsare encountered. To clean the permanentfiller, shake filter to removeexcess dirt and/or use

vacuum cleaner. Wash tilter in soap or detergentwater and replacealter filteris dry.
