DS NVS SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

DS NVs software can be installed on a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:

Industry-standard, Intel® platform, server-grade motherboard

Dual-Core Intel Xeon® Processor (32-input system) or Intel Pentium® 4 3.2 GHz Processor (16-input system or smaller)

NOTE: If you are streaming between 4 and 32 H.264 cameras, Pelco recommends that you meet the following system requirements:

CPU Speed: Intel Core2 Quad Q9400 at 2.66 GHz (4 CPUs)

VGA Card Spec: NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600 GT (512 MB, minimum)

Computer Memory: 4 GB of RAM

2 GB RAM

Dual Gigabit network interface cards (NICs)

Windows XP Embedded (XPe), Windows XP Professional, or Windows Server 2003 operating system

7200 rpm hard drive (minimum of one); can be SCSI or SATA*

Drive controller card

CD-RW

Stand-alone system: 20 GB available storage for operating system and applications

Distributed system: 160 GB available storage for operating system, applications, and video storage

*If all video is stored on the DS NVs server, you must add the appropriate quantity, speed, and size of drives required to meet the storage requirement. If the video is stored on an external storage subsystem, you must also install a suitable SCSI Card.

The transmission I/O rate of the drive controller card is important. For best performance, select a system that has a robust controller card, especially if you have a high camera count (20 to 32 IP cameras) or when using high-throughput cameras (such as IPIX®).
