DS NVS SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
DS NVs software can be installed on a computer that meets the following minimum requirements:

NOTE: If you are streaming between 4 and 32 H.264 cameras, Pelco recommends that you meet the following system requirements:
CPU Speed: Intel Core™2 Quad Q9400 at 2.66 GHz (4 CPUs)
VGA Card Spec: NVIDIA® GeForce® 9600 GT (512 MB, minimum)
Computer Memory: 4 GB of RAM
•2 GB RAM
•Dual Gigabit network interface cards (NICs)
•Windows XP Embedded (XPe), Windows XP Professional, or Windows Server 2003 operating system
•7200 rpm hard drive (minimum of one); can be SCSI or SATA*
•Drive controller card†
•CD-RW

•Distributed system: 160 GB available storage for operating system, applications, and video storage
*If all video is stored on the DS NVs server, you must add the appropriate quantity, speed, and size of drives required to meet the storage requirement. If the video is stored on an external storage subsystem, you must also install a suitable SCSI Card.
†The transmission I/O rate of the drive controller card is important. For best performance, select a system that has a robust controller card, especially if you have a high camera count (20 to 32 IP cameras) or when using
SERVER/VAU SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
To install Digital Sentry Server/VAU software on the DS NVs server, complete the following steps:
1.Insert the Digital Sentry Server/VAU CD.
2.Run SETUP.EXE from the CD.
3.Select the desired language and click OK.
4.When you are asked if the “dsserviceuser” account has been created, click Yes.
5.The Welcome screen appears. Click Next.
6.If you accept the user agreement, click Yes.
7.Select one of the following component types and click Next:
•DMS plus Extended Local Storage (VSAN): Installs the server, MSDE, and VSAN components.
•Extended Local Storage (VSAN): Installs the VSAN component.
•SAVR or DS XPress plus Extended Local Storage (VSAN): Installs the server, VideoServer, MSDE, and VSAN components.
•VAU: Installs the VideoServer component.
8.If you have changed the default “dsserviceuser” password, enter and verify the new password, and then click OK to begin the file installation.
9.Enter the license key generated for the component’s product ID.
10.If you selected the VAU or Extended Local Storage (VSAN) installation, enter the name or IP address of the server that the VAU or VSAN is connected to.
11.When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Finish.
