Before cleaning the appliance, remove the plug from the mains power socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
•Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cord with a slighly damp cloth. Be sure to dry the appliance well before taking it back into use.
•For stainless steel surfaces, you can use appropriate cleaning agents from a specialized dealer.
•Never use detergents, abrasive cleaners or solvents. These can damage the appliance.
In the event of scale deposits:
•Before descaling, remove the pourer sieve 5 (see chapter "Removing/replacing the pourer sieve").
•Obtain any decalcifying agent suitable for kitchen utensils (e.g. decalcifiers for coffee machines) from a hardware shop. Proceed as detailed in the instructions provided for the use of the decalcfying agent.
Removing/replacing the pouring sieve
•Open the lid.
•Using the finger depression of the
•Remove the pourer sieve 5.
•Clean the pouring sieve 5with a lightly moistened dishcloth and under running water.
•After cleaning it, replace the pourer sieve 5. Ensure that the clasp at the lower end of the pourer sieve 5 wraps itself around the peg in the water boiler. Press the pourer sieve 5 downwards until it is firmly seated.

Allow the appliance to cool off completely before putting it into storage.
•Wind the power cable around the cable retainer on the underside of the base 3.
•Store the appliance in a dry place.
