Location & Air Circulation

(4 inches)

Locate your freezer away from sources of heat e.g. cookers, radiators, direct sunlight as extreme temperature will affect its performance.

Allow a minimum 100mm (4 inches) between the top of the freezer and the ceiling or the underside of a wall cupboard.

Providing you follow the recommended ventilation requirements you will :-

Prolong the life of the freezer.

Minimise the risk of condensation on the outside of the freezer.

Minimise the running costs.

Minimise operating sounds caused by vibration.

Minimum space required to open door

The freezer needs a space of 600mm (24 inches) in front to allow the door to open.

When positioning the freezer next to a unit, a gap of 30mm (11/4 inch) can be left at the hinge side of the door to allow the easy removal of furniture. If preferred the freezer can be positioned so that a gap is not left. This will restrict how far the door can be opened but the furniture can still be removed (see diagrams below). The door hinge side can be changed to make it easier to open (see ‘Door Reversal’ in the CLEANING & MAINTENANCE section).

Both models are designed to meet the demands of modern households, ensuring that food storage is both efficient and effective.

The Hotpoint FZA50 is a compact, freestanding freezer that boasts a net capacity of 100 liters, making it ideal for smaller kitchens or households with limited storage space. It features an A+ energy rating, which signifies low energy consumption and environmental friendliness. The FZA50 is equipped with an adjustable thermostat, allowing users to easily control the internal temperature to preserve food at optimal levels. Additionally, its easy-to-clean interior and removable storage baskets enhance convenience, granting effortless organization of frozen items.

On the other hand, the Hotpoint FZA80 offers a larger net capacity of 147 liters, catering to families or those who require additional storage for bulk purchases. This model also carries an impressive A+ energy rating. A prominent feature of the FZA80 is its fast freeze technology, which rapidly freezes fresh foods, helping to retain nutrients and flavor. This function is especially useful when you need to store items quickly.

Both models utilize a manual defrost system, which requires the user to periodically defrost the freezer for optimal performance. This simple maintenance process ensures that the appliance runs efficiently and prevents ice buildup, which could compromise storage space. The FZA series also incorporates an audible alarm, alerting users in case the door is left ajar, thus preventing food spoilage.

Safety is another consideration with these models, as they feature a removable door seal that can be cleaned and replaced, promoting hygiene and preventing the buildup of bacteria. The clear front drawers in both models allow for easy visibility of contents, making it simpler to find what you need without rummaging through the entire freezer.

In summary, the Hotpoint FZA50 and FZA80 models offer a combination of efficiency, capacity, and user-friendly features that make them an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their food storage capabilities.
