INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION

1-1 INTRODUCTION

We are pleased to have you as a Bush Hog cus- tomer. Your GHM hay mower has been carefully designed to give maximum service with minimum down time. This manual is provided to give you the necessary operating and maintenance instructions for keeping your mower in top operating condition. Please read this manual thoroughly. Understand what each control is for and how to use it. Observe all safe- ty precautions decaled on the machine and noted throughout the manual for safe operation of imple- ment. If any assistance or additional information is needed, contact your authorized Bush Hog dealer.

NOTE

All references made to right, left, front, rear, top or bottom is as viewed facing the direction of forward travel with implement properly attached to tractor.

1-2 DESCRIPTION

The GHM (Figure 1-1) is intended for cutting hay and grass in a clean maintained area. A breakaway mechanism built into the three point hitch allows cut- ter bar to pivot back if a stationary object is hit. The cutter bar consists of individual spindle assemblies driven from the main gearbox by a gear train. An optional overrunning clutch is available to allow “coast down” of blades when PTO is disengaged.
