10.2 Loading Software on Palm

These instructions assume Palm desktop software is installed on your computer and a Palm with an operating system of 4.0 or higher is attached to the computer. Some familiarity with the Palm desktop software is also necessary. See the Palm manual for instructions on installing, operating and deleting software from the Palm. Failed or outmoded HCP software must be removed from the Palm Pilot before new HCP software can be installed.

Step 1: Install the HCP software CD on your computer and copy the compressed HCP file to your desktop.

Step 2: A self-extracting dialog box will be displayed. The Unzip to folder in the dialog box should show your Palm add-on folder as the site it will be saved. If not, click the Browse button and navigate to that folder. The Palm folder should be on your C drive and can be stored in the C:\Program Files directory. The Add- on folder is in the Palm folder. With the Unzip to folder showing the Palm Add-on folder, click Unzip.

Step 1: A dialog box showing a successful extraction will be displayed.

Step 4: Open the Palm Desktop software by clicking on the icon on your computer's desktop and click the Quick Install button. See Arrow.

Step 5: The Install Tool is displayed. Click the Add button.
