Defrosting by Time
The Time Defrostsetting is designed for speedy thawingof frozen foodand is one of the great advantages of a microwave oven.
Use the Time Defrost setting to quickly thaw foods suchas bread, rolls, vegetables, fruits and frozen dinners. The Auto Defrostsetting is preferred for meat and poultry becausethe oven sets the defrosting time and power levels for you.
Power Level 3 is automatically set for defrosting, but you may change this for more flexibility.

To become better acquainted with the defrost function, defrost a
Step 1: Place package of frozen strawberries in the oven and close door. Be sure package contains no metal.
Step 2: Touch TIME DEFROST.
Display shows :O and “POWER 3;’
“ENTER DEF TIME”flashes.
Step 3: Touch 4,MIN pad for 4 minutes. Display shows4:OO and “POWER 3:’ “DEF TIME” flashes. If you wish to change power level, touch POWER LEVEL pad and then new number.
Step4: Touch STAm. “DEF TIME” shows andtime counts down on display. When cycleis completed, the oven signals and flashes“End.” then automatically shuts off.
Step 5: Turn package over, close door and repeat Steps 2 , 3 and 4.
Step 6: Open door, remove package and separate strawberries to finish defrosting.

A.This sound is normal. It is letting you know the oven is using a power level lower than 10 (HIGH).

A.Cookbook times arc average. Defrosting time can vary according to the temperature in your freczcr. Setyouroven for the time indicated in your Cookbook. I f your food is still not completely thawcd at the end of that time. reset your oven and adjust the time accordingly.
Q.Should all foods be completely thawed before cooking?
A.Some foods should not be completely thawed before cooking. For example, fish cooks so quickly it is better to begin cooking whileit is still slightly frozen.
Q.Can I open the doorduring defrosting to check on the progress of my food?
A.Yes. You may open the door at any time during microwaving.To resume defrosting, close the door and press START. The oven begins operating if time is left on timer.
