Instructions for the User

7. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

NEVER USE A JET OF STEAM FOR CLEANING THE APPLIANCE.

Before carrying out any operations, disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply.

7.1Cleaning stainless steel

To keep stainless steel in good condition, it must be cleaned regularly, after each use of the appliance, first allowing it to cool.

7.1.1 Routine daily cleaning

When cleaning and caring for stainless steel surfaces, always use only specific products which do not contain abrasives or chlorine-based acids. Instructions for use: pour the product onto a damp cloth and wipe over the surface, then rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth or chamois leather.

7.1.2 Food stains or spills

Never use metal scouring pads or sharp scrapers which will damage the surface. Use ordinary non-abrasive products for steel, with the aid of wooden or plastic utensils if necessary. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth or chamois leather.

7.2Cleaning the gas components

The grids, the burner caps, the flame diffuser rings and the burners can be removed for easier cleaning; wash them in hot water and non-abrasive detergent, taking care to remove all deposits, and wait for them to dry completely. Replace the burner caps on their rings, making sure that the holes A are perfectly centered with the circular projections B on the burners.

For best performance, the ignition plugs and thermocouples must always be kept thoroughly clean. Check them frequently and if necessary clean them with a wet cloth. Remove any dry residues with a wooden toothpick or a needle.

Known for its efficient cooking capabilities and user-friendly features, the CIR900X is designed to meet the demands of both novice cooks and culinary enthusiasts.

One of the standout features of the Smeg CIR900X is its induction cooking technology. This method uses electromagnetic energy to rapidly heat cookware, providing precise temperature control and quick cooking times. The result is a powerful heating element that responds immediately when adjusted, allowing users to bring water to boil faster than traditional electric or gas cooktops. This responsiveness not only enhances cooking efficiency but also improves safety, as the cooktop surface remains cool to the touch, reducing the risk of burns.

The CIR900X boasts an intuitive touchscreen control panel that simplifies operation. Featuring multiple cooking zones, each with its own independent settings, users can easily prepare different dishes simultaneously. The cooktop also includes a booster function for each zone, providing an extra burst of heat for rapid cooking when needed. For added convenience, the simmering mode allows for gentle heat, perfect for delicate sauces or warming dishes.

Safety is a top priority in the design of the Smeg CIR900X. The cooktop includes features such as automatic shut-off, which activates after a prolonged period of inactivity, and child lock settings to prevent accidental activation, making it suitable for families with children. Additionally, the residual heat indicator alerts users when the surface is still hot, enhancing overall safety in the kitchen.

The smooth ceramic glass surface of the CIR900X not only offers a modern look but also makes cleaning a breeze. Spills can be easily wiped away, and the lack of grates or burners prevents food from becoming trapped, maintaining a hygienic cooking environment.

In terms of energy efficiency, induction cooktops like the Smeg CIR900X consume less energy than traditional cooking methods, making them an environmentally friendly choice. The ability to control energy usage more precisely also allows for reduced electricity costs.

Overall, the Smeg CIR900X combines advanced induction cooking technology with a host of features geared toward convenience, safety, and efficiency. Its modern design and intuitive controls make it a perfect addition to any contemporary kitchen, appealing to those who appreciate both form and function in their cooking appliances.
