Removing the Handles and Doors

Ifitisnecessarytomovetherefrigeratorthroughnarrowdoorways,follow these steps to remove the handles and/or refrigerator and freezer doors.

To Remove Handles

Full-lengthTrim:

1.Usingaputtyknife,carefullyslidethecornerofthebladeunderthetrim.Slide bladedownuntilyoufindthetrimlock.Carefullymaneuverthebladeagainstthe trimlockfromthesideasshown.Note:Pressingdownonthetrimlockfrom abovewillnotreleaseit.

2.Carefullypushtheputtyknifefirmlyagainstthetrimlockandtwistgently.The trimlockwillsnapfreefromthedoor.(Eachtrimpiecewillhavetwotrimlocks.)

3.Grasptrimandpullupawayfromhandleusingaslightside-to-sidemotion.

4.Removescrewsattachinghandletodoor.

5.Repeatthesestepsforeachhandleend.Keepscrewsandtrimpieces.

6.Toreplacehandles,lineuphandlewithscrewholes,insertscrewsandtighten. Slideupperandlowertrimpiecesbackonhandleends,andsnaptrimlocksback intoholesondoorfront.

To Remove Doors

Beforeremovingthedoors,besurethefreezercontrolisturnedtoOFF.Removeall foodfromthedoorsandunplugtherefrigerator.Removethetoegrill.

Tracearoundthehingeswithasoftleadpencil.Thiswillmakeiteasiertorealign thedoorswhentheyarereplaced.Completelyremoveonedoorbeforestarting removaloftheother.

FreezerDoor:

1.Removethetoegrill.(SeeOutsideinthe"CareandCleaning"section.)

2.Removethewiringcoverlocatedoverthelowerhingeofthefreezerdoor.The

coverisheldinplacebyasinglescrew.(Illustration1)

3.Todisconnectwiringharnessplug(connector),positionyourselftobeableto placeyourthumbsontheflatsidesofeachconnectorpiece.Bendbothparts backandforth.Thenwithafirmgrasp,pullthetwopiecesapartasshown.

4.Todisconnectwaterline,holdwaterlineelbowandpushinongraycollar,forcing elbowdown,offfromtubethatrunsintodoor.

5.Placeastripoftapealongthedoorbottom,overthelowerhingeanduptheside ofthedoor.Thiswillholdthehingeinplacewhenthedoorisremoved.

6.Remove the top bolt of the lower hinge. Loosen, but DO NOT REMOVE, the bottomboltofthelowerhinge.

7.Removetophingecoverbyliftingbackofcoverandslidingforward.Remove hingescrewsfromhingebracketwithacounter-clockwisemotion.Note:Hinge hasminimalspringtension.Holdbracketwhenremovinglastscrew.DONOT removehingebracketfromdoor.

8.Carefullyliftthedoorupandofftheloosenedlowerhingebolt.(Illustration2)

RefrigeratorDoor:

1.Removetophingecoverbyliftingbackofcoverandslidingforward.Remove hingescrewsfromhingebracketwithacounter-clockwisemotion.Note:Hinge hasminimalspringtension.Holdbracketwhenremovinglastscrew.DONOT removehingebracketfromdoor.

2.Remove the top bolt of the lower hinge. Loosen, but DO NOT REMOVE, the bottomboltofthelowerhinge.

3.Carefullyliftthedoorupandofftheloosenedlowerhingebolt.

Storethedoorsinasafeplaceuntiltherefrigeratorismovedtothedesiredlocation. Keepallhardwareforreinstallation.

ToReinstallDoors

Toreinstallthedoors,reversetheinstructionsusedtoremovethedoors.Note: To reinstallwaterline,pushelbowup,ontodoortube,untilcollartouchestubeink markasshownleft.
