HOW TO INSTALL THE BAI-rERY

Use the fasteners shown below to install the battery, The fasteners are shown full size

1Check the level of the acid If the acid has fallen below the correct level, add water to the correct level

2 Attach the drain tube to the bottom of the battery tray Fasten the drain tube with clamp (A) as shown Push the drain tube through the hole in the frame as shown Pull the drain tube along the frame to the rear of the unit. Make sure the drain tube is above the clutch idler spring Fasten the drain tube to the side of the frame with tie strap (S) as shown

3 Set the battery in the battery tray Make sure the battery

 

terminals

are towards

the center

of the

frame

The

correct

 

 

position of the battery terminals are shown in the illustration

the

tray

Fasten the battery with the battery clamp as shown, Make

are

wires

between

the battery

and

the

battery

clamp.

5Slide the cover for the positive (+) terminal onto the red battery cable as shown

WARNING:

 

To prevent sparks,

fasten the

red

 

cable to

the

positive

(+)

terminal

before

you

Covet

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

connect

the

black

cable

to

the

negative

(-}

 

terminal.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6Fasten the red battery cable to the positive (+) terminal with the nut and bolt as shown

7Slide the cover over the positive (+) terminal

8Fasten the black battery cable to the negative (-) terminal with the nut and bolt as shown

9To prevent corToslon, apply grease to the battery terminals
