DEALER CHECK LISTS

PRE-DELIVERY CHECK LIST

(DEALER’S RESPONSIBILITY)

Inspect the equipment thoroughly after assembly to make sure it is set up properly before delivering it to the customer.

The following check list is a reminder of points to inspect. Check off each item as it is found satisfactory, corrections are made, or services are performed.

___ Check that all safety decals are installed and in good condition. Replace if damaged.

___ Check that all shields and guards are properly installed and in good condition. Replace if dam- aged.

___ Check all bolts to be sure they are properly torqued

___ Check and grease all lubrication points as identi- fied in the Lubrication Maintenance illustration, page 16.

___ Check the level of gearbox fluid before delivery. Service, if required, as specified on page 16.

___ Check that blades have been properly installed

___ Show customer how to make adjustments and select proper PTO speed.

___ Instruct customer how to lubricate and explain importance of lubrication.

Point out the safety decals. Explain their meaning

 

and the need to keep them in place and in good

 

condition. Emphasize the increased safety haz-

 

ards when instructions are not followed.

Point out all guards and shields. Explain their

 

importance and the safety hazards that exist

 

when not kept in place and in good condition.

Present Operator's Manual and request that cus-

 

tomer and all operators read it before operating

 

equipment. Point out the manual safety rules,

 

explain their meanings, and emphasize the

 

increased safety hazards that exist when safety

 

rules are not followed.

Explain to customer the potential crushing haz-

 

ards of going underneath raised equipment.

 

Instruct customer that service work does not

 

require going underneath unit and never to do so.

___

Explain to customer that when equipment is

 

transported on a road or highway, safety devices

 

should be used to give adequate warning to oper-

 

ators of other vehicles.

___

Inform customer to operate PTO at 540 rpm max-

 

imum.

___

Explain to customer the importance of having the

 

correct PTO driveline length so that it does not

 

bottom out or come apart. Explain that it must be

 

checked as instructed in the manual whenever

 

using a different tractor.

___

Show customer the safe, proper procedures to be

 

used when mounting, dismounting, and storing

 

equipment.
