Attaching Chute

Deflector

NOTE: Use the hardware in Group 5 to secure the chute deflector.

1.Align the holes on the chute deflector with the corresponding holes on the deck.

2.Secure with self-tapping screws and bell washers from underside of the deck and up through the chute deflector, Figure 3-9.

Attaching Recoil Starter

NOTE: Use the hardware in Group 6 to secure the recoil starter.

1.Loosely attach the rope guide to the outside of the upper handle and thread the wing nut only a few turns, Figure 3-10. Do not tighten.

2.Depress the blade control handle.

3.Pull the recoil starter out of the engine.

4.Slip the rope through the rope guide as shown in Figure 3-10. Tighten the wing nut to secure the rope guide.

Reattach The Spark Plug Wire

Reattach the spark plug wire to the spark plug. If engine is equipped with a rubber boot, make sure the rubber boot snaps down onto the spark plug.

IMPORTANT:

This unit is shipped without gasoline or oil in the engine. Fill up gasoline and oil as instructed in the accom- panying engine manual BEFORE operating your mower.
