GENERATOR SHUT-DOWN PROCEDURES

normal Shutdown Procedure

To shutdown the generator, use the following procedure:

WARNING

NEVER stop the engine suddenly except in an emergency.

1.Place the main, G.F.C.I., and aux. circuit breakers (Figure 38) in the OFF position.

2.Let the engine cool by running it at low speed for 3-5 minutes with no load applied.

3.Place the MPEC Control Switch (Figure 39) to the

OFF/RESET position.

4.Verify that all the status LEDs on the MPEC display are OFF (not lit).

5.Remove all loads from the generator.

6.Inspect entire generator for any damage or loosening of components that may have occurred during operation.

emergency Shutdown Procedure

1.Place the main, G.F.C.I., and aux. circuit breakers (Figure 38) in the OFF position.
