5 Lifting the Patient

5.1 Sling Information

WARNING!

Invacare shall not be liable for damage or injury that may occur as a result of using slings made by other manufacturers.

Invacare shall not be liable for damage or injury due to incorrect use of the sling or inadequate attention by the caregiver or user.

Use the sling that is recommended by the individual’s healthcare team for the comfort and safety of the individual that is being lifted. If there is any doubt about the selection or use of a sling, please contact your Invacare dealer.

A sling with four to six lifting straps designed for mounting on hooks should be used when using a Invacare hanger bar.

Refer to the sling user manual for more details about the slings.

5.2 Attaching the Sling

CAUTION!

Be careful when attaching the lifting sling on the hooks.

Check that the straps have been positioned completely onto the hooks of the hanger bar.

When pressing the up button to lift the user, check again that all the straps remain correctly placed in the hanger bar’s hooks.

1.Place the uppermost set of straps from the back of the sling on the hooks A on the hanger bar B.

2.Place the lowest set of straps from the legs of the sling on the hooks on the hanger bar.

Refer to the sling user manual for proper positioning of the person in the sling and proper positioning of the straps on the hanger bar.
