OPERATION

KICKBACK PRECAUTIONS

See Figures 4 and 5.

Rotational kickback occurs when the moving chain con- tacts an object at the Kickback Danger Zone of the guide bar. The result is a lightning fast, reverse reaction which kicks the guide bar up and back towards the operator. This reaction can cause loss of control which can result in serious injury.

WARNING:

Always shut off engine before fueling. Never add fuel to a machine with a running or hot engine. Move at least 30 ft. (9 m) from refueling site before starting the engine. DO NOT SMOKE! Failure to heed this warning can result in possible personal injury.

FUEL AND REFUELING

HANDLING THE FUEL SAFELY

WARNING:

Check for fuel leaks, if any are found, correct them before using the saw to prevent fire or burn injury.

Always handle fuel with care, it is highly flammable.

Always refuel outdoors and do not inhale fuel vapors.

Do not let gasoline or oil come in contact with skin.

Keep gasoline and oil away from the eyes. If gasoline or oil comes in contact with the eyes, wash them

immediately with clean water. If irritation is still present, see a doctor immediately.

Clean up spilled fuel immediately.

MIXING THE FUEL

This product is powered by a 2-cycle engine and requires pre-mixing gasoline and 2-cycle oil. Pre-mix unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil in a clean container approved for gasoline.

This engine is certified to operate on unleaded gasoline intended for automotive use with an octane rating of 87 ([R + M] / 2) or higher.

Do not use any type of pre-mixed gasoline/oil from fuel service stations, this includes the pre-mixed gasoline/oil intended for use in mopeds, motorcycles, etc.

Use a high quality 2-cycle self-mixing oil for air-cooled engines. Do not use automotive oil or 2-cycle outboard oil.

Mix 2% oil into the gasoline. This is a 50:1 ratio.

Mix the fuel thoroughly and each time before fueling.

Mix in small quantities. Do not mix quantities larger than usable in a 30-day period. A 2-cycle oil containing a fuel stabilizer is recommended.

UT10510 specifications

The Homelite UT10510 chainsaw is a versatile and efficient tool designed for both novice and experienced users who require a dependable saw for various tasks, from trimming and pruning to heavier cutting jobs. Known for its power and ease of use, the UT10510 is a reliable addition to any toolbox.

One of the main features of the Homelite UT10510 is its 10-inch cutting bar, which provides a perfect balance between maneuverability and cutting capacity. This size makes it ideal for tackling small to medium-sized branches, allowing users to handle tasks quickly and efficiently. It is also lightweight, reducing user fatigue during extended use, a benefit that is particularly important for those who may need to work for prolonged periods.

The UT10510 is powered by a gas engine, providing a robust 25cc of power. This engine allows for strong performance, enabling the saw to cut through tougher materials with relative ease. Additionally, the gas-powered design offers the advantage of being more portable than electric models, as it does not require a power source or long extension cords.

Another noteworthy technology incorporated into the Homelite UT10510 is its automatic chain lubrication system. This feature ensures that the chain remains well-lubricated during operation, which not only prolongs the life of the chain but also enhances cutting efficiency. A well-lubricated chain reduces friction, allowing for smoother cuts and reducing the risk of overheating.

Additionally, the UT10510 includes a tool-free chain tensioning system, which makes it easy for users to quickly adjust the chain tension without the need for additional tools. This feature is particularly useful for those who may not have extensive experience with chainsaw maintenance, as it simplifies what can be an otherwise complicated process.

Safety is also a significant consideration in the design of the Homelite UT10510. It features a chain brake that stops the chain immediately in case of kickback. This safety feature is critical for reducing the risk of accidents while operating the saw.

In summary, the Homelite UT10510 is a compact, powerful chainsaw designed for versatility and ease of use. With its effective 10-inch cutting bar, reliable gas engine, automatic chain lubrication, tool-free chain tensioning, and built-in safety features, it stands out as a practical choice for both casual users and those looking to handle more demanding cutting tasks. Whether you need to trim branches in your yard or cut firewood, the UT10510 is designed to meet your needs efficiently.
